Information Sys Engineer 3
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Administrator with 5–8 years of hands-on expertise in SAP Basis administration and SAP HANA. The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to SAP upgrades, kernel/support pack patching, HANA failover/HA scenarios, SAP PO administration, and end-to-end troubleshooting across SAP landscapes. Experience with SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) setup and operations is highly desirable.
Job Requirements
• Perform day-to-day SAP Basis administration for SAP systems across DEV/QAS/PRD landscapes.
• Manage SAP system operations: start/stop, parameter tuning, system health checks, background jobs monitoring, transports (TMS), spool administration, etc.
• Conduct regular housekeeping activities including log/file system cleanup, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Execute SAP kernel upgrades, Support Package (SP) / Support Package Stack (SPS) updates, and SAP Notes implementation as required.
• Plan and execute SAP system refresh/copy, client copies, and post-copy activities.
• Support OS/DB patch coordination with infrastructure teams and ensure minimal downtime with proper rollback planning.
• Administer SAP HANA systems: monitoring, performance checks, backups, recovery, memory/CPU tuning, and alert handling.
• Configure and manage HANA replication, HA/DR, and participate in failover/failback drills and real production events.
• Handle HANA troubleshooting: slow queries, expensive statements, table growth, log segment issues, services status, and backup failures.
• Work on HANA failover scenarios, replication status checks, and ensure readiness for DR cutovers.
• Maintain and test DR runbooks, SOPs, and execute periodic DR drills with stakeholders.
• Provide Basis-level support for SAP Process Orchestration (PO) including:
• System monitoring, certificate management, performance troubleshooting, and patching.
• Java stack basics (where applicable) such as J2EE engine monitoring, logs, and service checks.
• Support SAP Solution Manager setup/configuration (e.g., SLD/LMDB, diagnostics agents).
• Manage system monitoring, EWA (EarlyWatch Alert) and integration with managed systems.
• Maintain SolMan technical components and ensure smooth monitoring and alerting coverage.
• Provide strong L2/L3 support for complex issues involving ABAP stack, HANA DB, OS, network dependencies, and interfaces.
• Perform deep dive analysis using SAP T-codes, HANA Studio/Cockpit, and OS tools.
• Ensure adherence to SLA, root cause analysis (RCA), and documentation of resolutions.

Education
• 5–8 years of relevant experience as SAP Basis Administrator with SAP HANA administration.
• SAP upgrades, kernel upgrades, SPS/SP, and patching activities.
• HANA replication, HA/DR, failover/failback handling.
• Performance monitoring and tuning across SAP and HANA.
• Exposure to SAP PO administration/support.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager setup/operations (monitoring/agents/LMDB/SLD).
• Strong troubleshooting skills across SAP application, database, OS, and connectivity layers.
• Good understanding of transport management, job scheduling, and SAP system security basics (users/roles coordination).
• Experience with S/4HANA migrations, system conversions, or brownfield upgrades.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, scripting (Shell/PowerShell), and automation.
• Familiarity with HA cluster solutions and storage/network concepts.
• ITIL process exposure and experience in managed services environments.
