Job Summary
The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting custom applications using core ServiceNow platform capabilities. This role requires strong expertise in advanced scripting, data modeling, security, workflow automation, integrations, and modern UI development using Workspaces and UI Builder. The developer works independently on complex requirements while ensuring alignment with platform best practices and user experience standards. Strong communication, technical ownership, and architectural thinking are essential for success in this role.
Job Requirements
- Serve as a primary developer for custom applications built on the ServiceNow platform, supporting enterprise and ITBM‑aligned use cases.
- Design and implement end‑to‑end custom application architecture, including scoped applications, tables, relationships, data model, and configuration.
- Apply advanced platform scripting (Script Includes, Business Rules, Glide APIs, asynchronous processing) to deliver scalable and high‑performance solutions.
- Configure and manage application security including roles, ACLs, data access rules, and separation of concerns following platform best practices.
- Design and manage Flow Designer and Workflow automations to support custom application lifecycles, approvals, and process orchestration.
- Build and maintain integrations with third‑party tools and enterprise systems using REST APIs, integration spokes, and MID Server as required.
- Develop modern user experiences using Workspaces and UI Builder, creating responsive, role‑based interfaces for custom applications.
- Create and enhance UI components such as Forms, Lists, UI Actions, UI Policies, and related platform elements to support application functionality.
- Support Service Portal experiences for custom applications where portal‑based access or legacy UI is required.
- Collaborate effectively with product owners, and cross-functional teams through design documentation, technical reviews, and solution walkthroughs.
Education
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Primary skillset: Custom Applications, Advanced Scripting, Flow, Integrations
Secondary skillset: Service Portal
