Software Engineer 4
Job Summary
NetApp Console is how customers manage, protect, and optimize data across data centers and public cloud. You will build it end to end: Go Microservices on Kubernetes, multi-tenant APIs, and the React experiences customers use daily.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will lead design, mentor engineers, and grow by owning customer-facing platform work.
As part of the R&D function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advancements, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development.
This position requires you to be creative, team-oriented, technology savvy, self-motivated to produce results and demonstrates the ability to take a cross-team leadership role.
Job Requirements
As a Senior Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Design, build, and deliver capabilities across Go Microservices and React applications.
- Shape architecture and system design for secure, event-driven services, APIs, and data models on Kubernetes.
- Make trade-offs across scale, multi-tenancy, reliability, security, and cost.
- Build responsive, accessible React and TypeScript experiences on well-designed APIs.
- Lead design discussions with partner teams and help set engineering practices.
- Clear most blockers yourself, and raise major risks early with options.
- Mentor engineers and coordinate work across teams.
- Raise reliability through testing, CI/CD, observability, SLOs, and incident analysis.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of applicable software development experience is required.
- Strong experience with production Go services, including concurrency, profiling, and tuning.
- Strong system design and architecture skills for scalable, resilient Microservices and APIs (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC).
- Hands-on experience with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Redis, including data modeling, indexing, and query tuning.
- Knowledge of distributed systems: Kafka or NATS messaging, caching, idempotency, and consistency.
- Solid experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD, and observability such as Prometheus or OpenTelemetry.
- Understanding of OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC, multi-tenancy, and secrets management.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and reusable UI components.
Education
- A minimum of 8 years of applicable experience is required.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, not required.
All internal movements within the Product Group via requisition will be lateral, offering valuable growth opportunities to extend your skills in a new area. Opportunities for a promotion will be reviewed in the normal course of business, aligned with our promotion process.
