Software Engineer 4
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Product Release Quality Lead to ensure high‑quality, reliable software releases in a fast-paced and complex engineering environment. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and release readiness, requiring strong analytical ability to transform diverse technical inputs into clear, actionable insights.
You will partner closely with release engineering, development, test teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate risk, refine test strategies, and drive end-to-end release readiness. This is a hands-on, high‑visibility position with significant influence and opportunities to grow as a trusted leader in release quality.
Job Requirements
Product Release Readiness
- Partner with Release Engineering to review release content, defects, risks, and overall readiness.
- Contribute to patch release and late‑stage change decisions, balancing quality and delivery.
- Serve as an advisor on release health and customer impact.
Test Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate with test/quality teams to optimize CI, CIT, and regression strategies.
- Recommend test payloads based on release scenarios.
- Support global test teams during major or high‑impact releases.
Test Planning & Quality Insights
- Create and maintain test plans and master test plans.
- Use test management tools (e.g., qTest) for tracking, coverage analysis, and reporting.
- Interpret test logs and synthesize risks, outcomes, and release impact.
- Support quality readouts using RCA data and customer feedback.
Communication & Collaboration
- Provide clear summaries of issues, risks, and decisions to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Leverage AI tools for defect analysis and documentation review.
- Build strong relationships with engineering teams and manage multiple priorities.
Build & Release Ecosystem
- Develop strong understanding of build creation, purpose, and usage.
- Act as a knowledgeable point of contact for build/release issues.
AI‑Enabled Automation & Tooling
- Explore AI-driven automation to streamline quality and release workflows.
- Integrate automation and orchestration tools to reduce manual effort.
- Partner with tooling teams to stay aligned with evolving capabilities.
- Demonstrate curiosity toward improving signal quality and release insights through AI.
Education
- Typically requires a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience.Mgr & Exec - Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Experience in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, Release Engineering, or related technical domains.
