Job Summary
The ONTAP Security team is dedicated to developing and maintaining robust security solutions that protect our customers' data. We focus on implementing and enhancing security protocols and technologies to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data stored in ONTAP. As a Senior Engineer, you will be part of a high-performance team responsible for designing, developing, and testing security features. You will also mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
An ideal candidate for this position will be driven to produce results, collaborative, curious, and creative. You will strive to excel in your day-to-day work and will continue to produce high-quality results without requiring constant supervision. You will bring broad experience across multiple domains, including systems, networking and security shaping system architectures that balance performance, concurrency, reliability, and long‑term maintainability.
Job Requirements
- Excellent coding skills in C/C++
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, data structures, and OS fundamentals.
- Experience in designing high‑performance data paths with careful handling of concurrency, crash consistency, lock contention, and parallel packet processing.
- Engage with customers on escalations and ensure continuous improvement in all areas under your technical purview.
- Experience with security technologies such as TLS, Kerberos, and IPsec is a plus.
- Participate in technical discussions within the team and with other groups within Business Units associated with specified projects.
- Work on multiple tasks and responsibilities that contribute towards team, department, and company goals.
- Enforce best practices for software design and development through appropriate reviews.
- Stay updated with new technologies and apply creative ideas to solve problems.
- Coding and execution of projects.
- Technical design and architecture.
- Test automation and debugging using Python.
- Performance analysis and optimization.
- Running Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Research & Development (R&D) activities.
- Critical and/or high visibility customer support
Education
- 8- 12 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s Degree or PhD is preferred.
