Job Summary

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be managing a team responsible for actively participating in driving product development and strategy. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be the key contributor throughout the entire product lifecycle, from conception to deployment. Your role will involve working on advanced distributed microservices systems that handle petabytes of data, providing essential insights for our enterprise offerings. You will also contribute to the design of resilient, enterprise-level systems that operate effectively within hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring scalability and reliability to meet our customers' complex needs. Within this collaborative team environment, you will be part of the process that shapes real-time SaaS solutions for a worldwide enterprise clientele.  You will work on architecture, design and product definition that leads and influences decisions and outcomes related to project direction.  As the manager of the team, you will act as a technical advisor and mentor other engineers while working closely with PMs and other technical leaders form different teams in NetApp.

Job Requirements

  • Lead a team of high performing software development engineers  
  • Contribute expertise to software architecture and design of distributed system features  
  • Facilitate product design, implementation and support, including getting hands-on as needed 
  • Provide coaching and career development for members of your team 
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality release 
  • Work closely with product management and customers to build the best product 
  • Take responsibility for results including costs, methods and staffing 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, Clear understanding of the product development cycle and project management 
  • Ability to understand and apply new technologies 
  • Experience in hands-on systems software development including experience with the systems engineering domain requiring concepts such as computer architecture, operating systems, file systems, networking, algorithms & data structures 
  • Experience in managing software development projects with Java/JavaScript/Typescript/Python/React, development using microservices architecture and Kubernetes. 
  • Customer focused with good analytical, logical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Focused on innovation and product quality. 
  • Experience with storage technologies or cloud technologies is a plus. 
  • Experience with Working on Cloud Environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Strong knowledge in design and architecture of SaaS systems. 

Education

  • B.tech in Computer Science, or a related field required with a minimum of 10-15 years of related experience of which at least 5+ years of experience as a people manager is required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
