Sr Director, Marketing
Job Summary
The Senior Director of Marketing, Demand Strategy is a critical leadership role responsible for setting the global demand strategy and establishing the operating model that connects marketing priorities to measurable pipeline outcomes. This leader will bring together cross-functional marketing teams and planning inputs to build the end-to-end global demand marketing strategy—from direction-setting, planning and process-building to cross-functional alignment, ensuring marketing efforts directly support pipeline creation and progression toward won revenue.
This role reports to the VP, Strategic Demand Marketing and leads the strategic governance that aligns Demand functions across Demand Marketing and key partners around a single integrated demand plan. The role translates global business objectives and Geo/Area priorities into clear quarterly demand priorities, investment tradeoffs, and measurable performance expectations across pipeline creation and progression. While this position does not manage execution of individual campaigns, it drives alignment and accountability through planning, measurement, and ongoing business reviews - surfacing forward-looking insights on demand health, pipeline coverage, and growth opportunities to support decision-making.
Job Requirements
This role is focused on strategy, planning, and orchestration, not execution or activation of tactics. The success of this role is measured by the creation of an integrated plan, a predictable process, and a strong cross-functional interlock that enables all demand execution teams (e.g., Demand Activation, Alliance and Field Marketing) to work cohesively toward shared goals. Primary areas of responsibility include:
Integrated Demand Planning: Lead the development of integrated quarterly demand plans that translate global business and marketing direction into Geo/Area priorities. Unify key elements of marketing demand - including integrated campaigns, audience and lifecycle readiness, and Field/Partner go-to-market motions—into a single plan with clear investment tradeoffs, success measures, and accountability across pipeline creation and progression toward won revenue.
Global Demand Strategy & Process: Set the global demand marketing and pipeline strategy that translates business priorities into a clear quarterly demand agenda. Define the strategy, standards, planning inputs, and measurement approach that connect pipeline creation and pipeline progression, enabling consistent execution across geos while allowing for local market requirements.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive alignment with cross-functional partners -including RevOps, GROE, and Product Marketing - around shared growth objectives, decision points, and agreed success measures. Lead Demand Marketing interlocks to identify pipeline gaps, recommend corrective actions, and secure alignment with execution owners on priorities and next steps.
Demand Optimization & Performance: Establish a consistent process for tracking progress against global, geo, and area marketing pipeline goals. Accountable for surfacing risks to marketing sourced pipeline and marketing sourced revenue targets, guiding actions to address stalled opportunities, and analysing funnel conversion rates to drive continuous improvement.
Executive Reporting & Insights: Own the demand funnel performance narrative and forecasting insights, providing leaders with early visibility into pipeline risk and opportunity. Partner with the VP, Strategic Demand Marketing to prepare executive-level reviews and reporting for key stakeholders.
Strategic Feedback Loop: Provide strategic feedback to Product Marketing on messaging effectiveness and asset requirements (e.g., product offers), based on insights from the BDR engine and funnel performance, to improve demand conversion.
