This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, and candidates must reside in or near the Greater Toronto Area. The position supports NetApp’s Commercial Sales team across Canada, partnering closely with Commercial Account Managers and working directly with customers and partners throughout the territory.

JOB SUMMARY

NetApp is seeking a Commercial Solutions Engineer (SE) to join our growing Commercial Sales team in Canada. As a Commercial Solutions Engineer, you will play a key role in helping customers understand how NetApp’s technology portfolio solves real business and technical challenges. You’ll partner with a highly collaborative sales team, engage with customers and partners across the territory, and help drive technical strategy that enables successful outcomes.This team operates in a fast-paced, high-opportunity environment, supporting a diverse set of customers and industries. It’s an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with sales teams, and helping customers transform their data infrastructure with modern, cloud-connected technologies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with Sales: Work closely with Commercial Account Managers to support territory strategy, qualify opportunities, and develop technical sales strategies across a large book of accounts.
  • Engage with customers: Meet directly with customers to understand their technical environments, business objectives, and infrastructure challenges, positioning NetApp solutions to address their needs.
  • Deliver technical expertise: Lead technical discovery conversations, solution presentations, demonstrations, and architectural discussions throughout the sales cycle.
  • Design solutions: Architect and position NetApp solutions across hybrid cloud, on-prem infrastructure, and data management platforms that align with customer requirements.
  • Support a high-volume environment: Operate across a large account set and multiple opportunities simultaneously while helping prioritize technical engagement where it has the greatest impact.
  • Collaborate with partners: Work closely with NetApp’s reseller and partner ecosystem to enable partner-led opportunities and support joint customer engagements.
  • Leverage internal expertise: Engage Solutions Architects and specialized technical resources on highly complex or strategic opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor: Build credibility with customer technical teams and decision-makers by providing strategic guidance on modern data infrastructure and hybrid cloud architectures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or systems engineering role supporting enterprise or commercial customers.
  • Strong experience with IT infrastructure technologies, ideally including storage, data management, hybrid cloud, or data center infrastructure.
  • Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value for customers and partners.
  • Experience working closely with sales teams in a pre-sales technical role, supporting account strategy and customer engagements.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and demonstration skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with customer environments including data centers, virtualization, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure architectures.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced commercial environment, supporting multiple opportunities across a broad account base.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for solving customer challenges and helping organizations modernize their data infrastructure.
