Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Firmware Engineering Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has a foundational understanding of programming, and is interested in gaining hands‑on experience in firmware development for innovative storage technologies. This internship offers the opportunity to work with experienced engineers and contribute to real‑world projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of firmware for NetApp products.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams under the guidance of senior engineers to support integration activities.
  • Participate in debugging and troubleshooting tasks with mentorship.
  • Contribute to creating and executing Unit Tests and Functional Tests for assigned code areas.
  • Learn and support basic DevOps and CI/CD practices within the team workflow.
  • Participate in code and document reviews to observe best practices and receive constructive feedback. 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational experience or coursework in programming (C/C++, Python preferred).
  • Interest in embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Basic understanding of debugging concepts.
  • Willingness to learn Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 

Your profile

  • You must be a current student of a bachelor’s degree in one of the following technical disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related subjects like Mathematics, Physics.
  • This role is open to graduates looking for a 6–8-month internship after graduation.
  • You should have the unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the entire duration of the internship. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship.
