Senior Network Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a senior-level Network Engineer to join our Cork-based team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the operationalization, management, and stability of our complex global network. You will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for executing critical operational processes and managing our advanced toolset to ensure maximum service uptime and performance. The ideal candidate is an operations-focused professional with deep experience in managing technologies like Cisco ISE, Palo Alto, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, and operational platforms like LogicMonitor and SolarWinds.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior Network Operations (L3/SME) role within a large-scale, multi-vendor enterprise.
- Strong, hands-on operational experience in administering, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco ISE for Network Access Control (NAC).
- Deep, hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise-scale Cisco Catalyst switch environments, including OS upgrades and patching.
- Expert-level, hands-on operational management of Palo Alto firewalls and strong operational knowledge of the Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA) platform.
- Daily, practical experience operating and managing LogicMonitor for monitoring and SolarWinds NCM for configuration management.
- Strong operational skills with Cisco Nexus switches (NX-OS).
- Strong mindset for operational excellence, including rigorous Change Control Management and documentation.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent.
- Continuous professional development in network operations and security technologies.
- Training in operational platforms like LogicMonitor and SolarWinds.
- Advanced courses or certifications in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, OCI) are a plus.
- Participation in industry conferences and workshops.
- Additional training in SDWAN, Cisco ACI, and load balancers (F5/AVI) is desirable.
