Job Summary

As a Professional Services Architect – Object Storage (m/f/d), you support customers and sales teams across the EMEA region in designing, planning, and implementing advanced object storage solutions based on NetApp products such as StorageGRID and ONTAP S3.You will work with public sector clients, enterprise customers, and globally operating companies across various industries. Your primary focus will be on technically complex projects that require a deep understanding of customers’ business requirements.In collaboration with customers, you will analyze both business and economic objectives as well as the existing technical landscape, and develop suitable architecture and solution concepts based on these insights.The role requires a willingness to travel within the EMEA region to support customers on-site, conduct workshops, and contribute to project delivery.Additionally, you will act externally as a technical subject matter expert for StorageGRID, for example in Customer Briefing Centers (CBCs), customer workshops, or industry events.Your ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and ownership for complex object storage projects across the EMEA regionAdvise customers of various industries and sizes on object storage architectures using NetApp solutionsAnalyze business requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions and target architecturesDesign, architect, and implement customer-specific object storage solutionsCollaborate closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, and internal project teamsDeliver technical workshops, architecture sessions, and customer briefings—both remotely and on-siteShare knowledge and best practices within the Professional Services team

Job Requirements

  • Your Profile

    • Strong technical expertise and the ability to structure and translate business requirements into technical concepts
    • Independent, structured working style with a strong customer focus
    • Confident and professional presence in customer-facing environments
    • Trusted point of contact for Sales, Support, and Product Development
    • Strong team player with the ability to work in international project environments
    • Willingness to travel within the EMEA region

    Core competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of object storage, particularly NetApp StorageGRID
    • Experience with complex S3-based architectures, e.g., ONTAP S3
    • Hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available storage solutions

    Nice-to-have skills:

    • Knowledge of NetApp’s solution portfolio (e.g., ONTAP, Data Protection, Security)
    • Experience using object storage for backup, archive, or analytics use cases
    • Experience with automation and API-based integrations

    Qualifications

    • Degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience
    • At least 12 years of experience in a similar consulting or architecture role
    • Fluent in German and English
