Consulting Solutions Engineer
Job Summary
Consulting Solution Engineer within NetApp's Sales organization, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders. You will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by aligning NetApp's technology solutions with customer business objectives and leading technical sales engagements across a high-value account portfolio.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role offering significant opportunities for career growth and exposure to strategic enterprise customers. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, consultative selling skills, executive presence, and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers, partners, Client Executives, and Sales Leaders.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with Client Executives to develop and execute account strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, business leaders, and C-level executives.
- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer challenges, requirements, and business objectives.
- Architect, demonstrate, and position NetApp solutions aligned to customer outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the sales cycle, including solution design, POCs, validation, and closure.
- Collaborate with channel partners and internal teams to drive opportunities and achieve territory goals.
- Present NetApp’s technology vision, value proposition, and competitive differentiation.
Job Requirement
- Experience in presales, solutions consulting, or sales engineering.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise storage, data protection, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Ability to present complex technical solutions to both technical and executive audiences.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
- Experience influencing enterprise technology buying decisions and driving technical wins.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Technical Presales, Solution Engineering, or a related customer-facing technology role.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate degree or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
Cross-Functional Skills: - Nvidia Certification, exposure to AI workloads and solutioning skills, worked on solutions with CSPs for AI Cloud. Knowledge on sizing solutions for AI workload and able to converse on solution stack. Basic understanding of machine learning fundamentals, deep learning, LLMs, and vector/streaming databases. Act as the knowledge bridge between infra stakeholders, data scientists, ML engineers, and DevOps/security teams and able to bring in skills to stitch complex solutions together. Proficiency in Kubernetes, big data platforms, and cloud-native architecture.
