Professional Services Consultant 3
Job Summary
As a Professional Services Consultant you will work to meet the requirements of Enterprise clients by providing and deploying technical architectures that deliver the highest value add on NetApp solutions. In this role, you will be expected to position and deliver company-marketed solution sets and other custom consulting.
You will work closely with the sales team to present solutions to customers’ unique requirements.
This position requires a dynamic, hard-working and ambitious individual with good oral and written communication skills.
Individuals will also possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills and have experience in project managing storage solutions.
Essential Functions:
The overall scope of this position includes planning and administering major portions of the implementation and engineering effort, including:
• Designing/architecting major components
• Task management
• Personnel identification
• Client deliverables
• Communication with clients and management
Specific responsibilities include:
• Scope and write detailed Statements of Work
• Engage in sales team activities to scope service deliverables with ability to translate business issues into NetApp deliverables
• Project manage engagements
• Deliver on consulting tasks (e.g., installation and configuration of 3rd party applications)
• Contribute to the improvement or enhancement of NetApp consulting best practices
Job Requirements
• Experienced technology consultant with a significant level of hands-on field experience.
• Deploy post-sales on-prem, hybrid, and Cloud storage solutions. Coordinate with senior customer representatives and Sales teams. Solid foundation with NetApp, IT infrastructure, applications, and Cloud services, providing the ability to quickly become a Subject Matter Expert.
• Experienced in NetApp Storage deployment and administration of NetApp Storage. Storage GRID, E-Series, Troubleshooting Performance Issues, performing firmware and SW upgrades, using storage management tools – OnCommand Unified Manager/ Performance Manager/ Cloud Insight, Managing backup integration with NetApp technologies.
• Proficient understanding of NetApp Storage concepts, related management tools and related Storage technologies (Snapshots, controller failover, provisioning, deduplication, cloning, SnapMirror, Metro Cluster, Fabric Pool), including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, replication technologies, security hardening and performance tuning.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform and scripting with REST API, PowerShell and Python would be beneficial
Familiarity with public cloud concepts and architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) would be beneficial.
• A thorough understanding of other components in the infrastructure stack – Compute HW, Virtualization (Vmware, Hyper-V, KVM) and Container Orchestration (K8S and OpenShift)
• Strong understanding of Storage protocols and technologies (CIFS, NFS, S3, iSCSI, Fibre Channel switching/networks and NVMe).
• Working knowledge of monitoring platforms, WANs, SANs, backup and disaster recovery platforms.
• Experience in Cisco / Brocade Director Class SAN Switch.
• Strong customer communication and documentation skills.
• Built and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Infrastructure design, build, deployment and disaster recovery planning.
• Positive, proactive, team-oriented attitude with a flexible and innovative approach to work.
• Capable of training customers in ad-hoc knowledge transfer as well as organized demonstrations or our methodologies
• Able to lead and delegate different functions within a project to ensure customer success.
• 4+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree and applicable work experience.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Security Clearance level 2 (can start with level 3 but must commit to upgrade to level 2)
• Fluent English
