Senior Solutions Engineer -Majors
LOCATION
This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we are only considering candidates who currently reside in the region. Please note that candidates outside of this region will not be considered for this position.
JOB SUMMARY
We’re expanding our Enterprise Majors organization, a newly created segment focused on serving some of the most strategic, high-value enterprise accounts in the country. These customers are household names in industries like manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and financial services, companies that depend on data to drive operations, performance, and innovation. Each Solutions Engineer in this segment will be aligned 1:1 with an Enterprise Client Executive, forming a tight two-person team dedicated to driving deep technical engagement, account growth, and long-term success. Together, you’ll build relationships, design complex data solutions, and execute multi-million-dollar strategies for some of the most influential enterprises in the world.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Serve as the technical lead and trusted advisor for a small number of large, strategic enterprise accounts.
- Partner closely with your Client Executive to define and execute account strategy, pipeline development, and deal progression.
- Build strong relationships with senior architects, IT decision-makers, and technical stakeholders, earning credibility through expertise and trust.
- Lead in-depth discovery sessions to uncover pain points and architect end-to-end solutions using the full NetApp portfolio
- Design and position solutions that integrate on-prem, hybrid, and cloud storage architectures to solve complex business challenges.
- Support multi-million-dollar sales cycles, often spanning multiple years, while maintaining consistent engagement and technical alignment with the customer
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and partner teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Demonstrate curiosity and initiative, always looking for new ways to add value and drive innovation within your accounts.
WHO YOU ARE
- A seasoned technical sales professional with experience navigating large, complex enterprise environments.
- Exceptional at building relationships at the technical level and engaging confidently with enterprise architects and IT leadership.
- Naturally inquisitive, you ask thoughtful, probing questions that uncover needs customers haven’t yet articulated
- Adept at managing long sales cycles and maintaining technical momentum throughout the process
- Collaborative and team-oriented, you work in perfect sync with your Client Executive and see your partnership as the foundation of success.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable balancing strategy with execution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of recent experience in technical sales engineering, pre-sales engineering, or solutions consulting/engineering positions.
- Proven success supporting and selling to Fortune 500 or global-scale enterprise customers.
- Track record of architecting and delivering multi-million-dollar deals involving complex technical solutions
- Deep technical understanding of storage technologies and the components surrounding enterprise data infrastructure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to simplify technical value into business impact.
The target salary range for this position is $193,800 - $250,800 USD The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
