Test Engineer
Job Summary
The PCBA Test Engineer will be responsible for all aspects related to the PCBA manufacturing test of NetApp products from NPI to sustaining manufacturing support at NetApp contract manufacturing factory in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The Test Engineer will work cross functionally to ensure that the design, development of test processes and their implementation to production provide the highest quality of products through optimal test coverage. This is an on-site position and is required to be in contract manufacturing factory to support PCBA production by working alongside the OEM/EMS partner’s engineers. The key deliverable is to resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality products.

Essential Functions:
• Define, develop and implement highly effective PCBA manufacturing test processes to ensure product quality, minimize costs and reduce time to market for new products.
• Work with the OEM/EMS partner’s engineers and the remote NetApp Ops. Engineering team to ensure a successful NPI and sustaining of NetApp’s products.
• Understand test automation requirements and validate them before product launch.
• Select and setup equipment for volume production.
• Run manufacturing verification test on preproduction units and provide data to assess production readiness.
• Document test processes for new products and ensure that the process is properly followed by the OEM/EMS partner.
• Perform test process gap analysis and drive continuous test improvement.
• Analyze test yields and pareto.
• Evaluate and optimize test coverage – reduce test time and drive efficiency.
• Provide feedback to remote team and other engineering groups to get issues resolved.
• Manage the transfer and set up of new products or new software at the manufacturing site. Provide training and documentation to our manufacturing sites.
• Monitor test equipment utilization and ensure that we have the test capacity to meet our customer forecasted demand.
• Install and maintain the test network and test infrastructure at the factory.
Job Requirements
• The candidate should be hands-on and a subject matter expert with PCBA test techniques and methods for a variety of computer, storage and networking hardware types.
• Demonstrated experience in test development for new products. Experience in test development, test support and production data collection.
• Experience in DFT analysis.
• Efficient bi-lingual (Chinese and English), verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
• Leadership skills and a good understanding of Project Management.
• Knowledge of BOM structuring and understanding ECOs, MCOs, LCOs etc.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux operation system. Software experience in some of the following languages: Python, Java, or C/C++/C#
• Domestic and international travel may be required for training.
• After-hours and week-end support are regularly requested.
• Test development background is a plus.
• Network Storage and Cloud background and understanding of network topologies is a plus.
Education
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• A minimum of 8 years of PCBA Test experience is required; 8 to 12 years of experience is preferred.
