Partner Technical Lead

Job Summary

Partner with the Global Partner Executive (PE) and peers in the Geo and in-country Partner Technical Leader (PTL) team to drive leveraged revenue growth through multiple sales motions; sell through, to, and with. This will be achieved by driving technical relations, both top-down, as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, and bottom-up, by providing thought leadership on major opportunities through the geotechnical teams. You would be expected to evangelize NetApp value-props and build NetApp bias with our most Global Strategic Partners.  Propose and define joint design-in solutions, gain commitment and consensus from the Strategic Partner’s Solution and Offering Development teams across Product and Service Business Units. Develop, document and support productization of those solutions within the NetApp-Strategic Partner joint portfolio. Please work with the Strategic Partner to evangelize those solutions to their Sales and Architecture teams, build competence with their delivery teams, and drive pipeline growth at the field engagement level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the technical strategy for the Strategic GSI Partner.
  • Meet with the Sales and Technical executives and thought leaders at the Partner to establish a strong working relationship that drives collaboration between the organizations.
  • Work with the Partner to identify and develop design-in solutions where NetApp products and services bring differentiated value to the Strategic Partner’s Product and Service Business Units.
  • Facilitate the Partner’s need to demonstrate and evaluate NetApp products and solutions on premise and in the cloud, arranging support from the NetApp extended team as needed.
  • Provide technical consultation and disseminate product information to the Partner’s Technical and Marketing teams.  
  • Coordinate and aid the Partner in responding to technical sections of RFP's, help at the field engagement level with configurations and sizing of products and services, help orchestrate and conduct product demonstrations, proof of concepts, and help determine technical feasibility.
  • Evangelize the Partner’s unique business and technical requirements to NetApp Executives and within NetApp's Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
  • Promote Partner’s capabilities within the NetApp field, establishing a cadence with the Area Partner Leadership (sales and technical) to drive knowledge and adoption of the Partner into the field sales motions.
  • Support NetApp’s sellers in identifying opportunities where offerings, services, and solutions from the Partner can be positioned. Facilitate the connection of the Partner sellers to their counterparts inside NetApp (field sales).

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including security, networking, servers, in addition to storage systems.
  • Proven experience with Global Systems Integrators.
  • Experience in responding to technical sections of RFP's, and also helping with configurations and sizing of products and services.
  • Experience in conducting product demonstrations, proof of concepts, and helping determine technical feasibility.
  • Enterprise storage and server, business continuity experience
  • IP Networking and security skills are desirable
  • Strong technical and project management skills and must be able to work cross-functionally with other development teams and partner organizations.
  • Excellent business acumen with a strong ability to map business requirements to technical solutions.
  • Compelling communication skills across a wide variety of mediums and situations – including written and verbal communication and in presentations spanning formal and informal, from small to large audiences.
  • Extensive travel may be required – amounts varying by territory.

Education

  • A degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, is required. A master's degree is preferred. 
  • 7+ years of IT industry experience in pre-sales technical positions where requirements gathering and solution consultation are central to the role.
