As the NPI Ops Program manager, you will be responsible for managing the Global Operations organization’s NPI processes for Software, Cloud and Hardware products from early product concept through the entire product life cycle. You will be identifying Program requirements, modeling the supply chain fulfillment model, coordinating operations & supply chain activities, and ensuring pilot and production readiness. You will consider NetApp’s infrastructure capabilities, desired customer experience, and alignment with Product roadmap as input into supply chain fulfillment model. This position requires a significant degree of leadership and influence with cross-functional team members.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for NPI (new product introductions) of NetApp SW (Controller-based, Cloud and Host-based) and HW products
- Manage product requirements, design fulfillment model, establish project schedule and key milestones, track project progress and ensure products are launched on time with predefined cost and quality constraints.
- Coordinate input and activities needed for all phase reviews from product inception to production release and represent the Operations team at Engineering core team meetings to ensure alignment.
- Drive pilot and production ramp readiness with contract manufacturers, engineering, and operations teams
- Coordinate with Contract Manufacturing partners on the material and infrastructure requirements needed to support development builds, pilot builds, and production ramp-up activities.
- Define entry and exit criteria for each phase to meet the schedule, cost, quality, and capacity targets.
- Lead communication about project status, risks and mitigation plans to senior management on a periodic basis and represent Operations organization during frequent interactions with executives.
- Perform benchmarking activities to analyze best-in-class practices in licensing and fulfillment processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and implement transformative strategies in supply chain & lead process Improvement initiatives based on evolving business requirements.
- Work with Engineering and Legal to identify and document critical IP requirements needed for product development.
- Define and track progress on NPI performance measurements activities and report Key Performance Indicators
Job Requirements
- 5 years experience in new product introduction, supply chain management, manufacturing or SW product development
- 3+ years experience in program/project management with a demonstrated record of teamwork and success in cross-functional project
- Technical expertise and knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle processes
- Experience working with supplier, OEM or Contract Manufacturing partners
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with tools such as MS Office suite, Smartsheet, Confluence, Jira
- Familiarity with NetApp Products desirable
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (such as Computer Science or Industrial Engineering or similar) required.
- MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred
